Not Located |
RTN/Account combination requested for verification has not been contributed by the Participant. There are multiple reasons why an account status may not be available: 1) An account number misread or other data quality issue, which will not lead to a return. 2) The account may be a new account and not yet contributed. 3) For larger FSOs with a number of supported routing numbers, the routing number may be correct for the bank, but not align with the routing number assigned to the account. Many of these transactions are corrected by the receiver (e.g., the bank customer may have found the input routing number online). 4) The transaction may be fraudulent; however, this status has a very low return rate of less than 1 %. Transaction declines are not permitted solely on a Not Located response. |
